Meredith Jones 鈥�19 and Jasmine Murray 鈥�19 received the FAO Schwarz Fellowship, a highly selective paid two-year Fellowship in Social Impact. The Fellowship includes a paid position with a leading nonprofit, personalized mentoring, and extensive professional development experiences.

The perfect June weather was only one contributing factor to a terrific Reunions 2019, as alumni and friends reunited and reminisced.

In his address at Hamilton鈥檚 commencement, Freeman Hrabowski, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, advised graduates to 鈥渒eep asking the hard questions and keep thinking of things we鈥檝e not thought about 鈥� about social justice and inequality and seeking the truth.鈥�

鈥淗e is the type of student that comes along very rarely in a professor鈥檚 career, someone who, in a quiet way, demonstrates exactly what I hold to be 鈥榯he highest ideals of the College.鈥欌��

Micaela Rostov 鈥�19 has been awarded a Fulbright Binational Internship to Mexico, making her part of an effort to create mutual understanding between the private sectors in Mexico and the United States.

Director of Opportunity Programs and Interim Director of Diversity and Inclusion Phyllis Breland 鈥�80 was honored for going above and beyond in service to students

Alan Cafruny, the Henry Platt Bristol Chair - International Affairs and Professor of Government; Assistant Professor of Physics Kate Brown; Assistant Professor of Sociology Jaime Kucinskas; Professor of Africana Studies Heather Merrill; Associate Professor of Literature and Creative Writing Jane Springer; and Assistant Professor of Classics Jesse Weiner were honored.

Hamilton鈥檚 highest awards for teaching were presented to Professor of Mathematics Rob Kantrowitz 鈥�82, Assistant Professor of Psychology Keelah Williams, and Assistant Professor of Classics Anne Feltovich.

Academic achievement prizes, prize scholarships and other recognition of student accomplishments were announced at Hamilton鈥檚 annual Class & Charter Day convocation on Monday, May 13, in the Chapel. Among the top prizes, David Gagnidze 鈥�20 was awarded the Milton F. Fillius Jr. /Joseph Drown Prize Scholarship, and Jonathan Stickel 鈥�19 received the James Soper Merrill Prize.

Swedish electronic dance music duo Galantis was the headliner at the annual Class & Charter Day concert on May 10. A severe weather threat forced the concert indoors but that didn鈥檛 stop the student audience from appreciating the show.
