Perfect weather, multiple well-orchestrated events, and many opportunities to re-connect with old friends combined to provide a memorable Reunion Weekend.

Kamila Shamsie 鈥�94 has been awarded the UK鈥檚 2018 Women鈥檚 Prize for Fiction for her novel Home Fire.

More than 1,200 alumni and guests will return to the Hill for Reunions 2018, June 7-10. There鈥檚 still time to register for the weekend that promises a full slate of activities and many opportunities to reconnect with classmates and friends. A special welcome goes to the members of the class of 1968, celebrating their 50th anniversary.

Mackenzie Doherty 鈥�18 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Vietnam.

While most underclassmen left campus after their final exams, a group of 69 students stayed around to take part in Orientation Leader training. The students will be among those leading Adirondack (AA), Outreach (OA), and Exploration Adventure (XA) trips for members of the class of 2022 in August.

Seraphina Buckholtz 鈥�20 has been awarded a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship for study abroad this summer. She鈥檒l study in Amman, Jordan, through the Council for Educational Travel, Intensive language and internship program. Buckholtz will study modern standard Arabic, and the Jordanian dialect and will intern with a refugee settlement.

In his address at Hamilton鈥檚 commencement, Ford Foundation President Darren Walker urged graduates to embrace history 鈥� good and bad 鈥� and lead the way forward with empathy, courage, and compassion.

Physical Plant custodian Heidi Griffith was honored with the Ellie Wertimer 鈥� Patsy Couper Award at the annual staff recognition lunch on May 14. The award is given annually to an employee who goes above and beyond in service to students.

Jacob (Jake) Colangelo 鈥�20 and Cameron DiGiovanni 鈥�20 have been awarded Coccia Foundation Scholarships for study abroad in Italy. They will use the $2,000 scholarships to study in Italy this summer at the CET Siena Program.
