They are partners in poetry: Marty Cain '13 majored in interdisciplinary poetics at Hamilton, received a M.F.A. in poetics , and published Kids of the Black Hole. Kina Viola '13 majored in creative writing and edits and designs chapbooks. Together, they run Garden-Door Press.

Citizen artist and performer Vanessa German brought her works from the streets of Pittsburgh to the Wellin Museum鈥檚 Innovative Approaches, Honored Traditions exhibit on Sept. 9, celebrating the museum鈥檚 5th anniversary. She performed spoken word poetry and presented the story behind her sculptures, which will be part of the museum鈥檚 permanent collection.

The event was organized by the Career Center and the Novelists鈥 Support Group.
